EL: The System Was Never Sacred

The Exit Logs Series

They dressed it up in language that made it feel holy.

“Hard work.”

“The law.”

“Success.”

“The real world.”

But underneath the robes was a machine.

And it did not care for the soul.

We were taught to revere systems.

To bow to clocks and deadlines.

To pay our way into legitimacy.

To respect authority,

no matter how hollow its hands became.

It was called education.

But it demanded obedience.

It was called justice.

But it sold punishment for profit.

It was called capitalism.

But it extracted life and renamed it growth.

And we believed it—

because it was everywhere.

Because the sacred had been drained from our memories.

But sacred doesn’t steal.

It doesn’t shame.

Doesn’t numb.

Doesn’t cage.

Sacred listens.

Breathes.

Honors.

Heals.

And that’s how we know:

The system was never sacred.

You don’t need to reject all structure.

Structure can hold.

But only if it’s living.

Only if it leaves room for the soul to speak.

The Matrix offers only replicas.

Institutions dressed as temples.

Efficiency sold as virtue.

Numbers worshiped like gods.

But we were never meant to pray to graphs.

We were meant to remember:

The sacred lives in the breath.

In the soil.

In the body.

In the pause.

In the presence that asks nothing of you.

Deconditioning means stripping the false altars bare.

So you can finally feel

what holiness tastes like

when it doesn’t demand your suffering.
