EL2: Building a Body That Believes Me

“Healing didn’t begin when I believed in my body.

It began when my body believed in me.”

—

There was a time when my body flinched

at the sound of my own voice.

A time when calm felt like danger

and stillness made my skin crawl.

Because for years,

my body learned that I would abandon it.

Override it.

Silence it.

Use it as currency.

And like any wise animal—

it stopped trusting me.

—

Integration isn’t just about feeling safe.

It’s about becoming someone your body can trust.

Someone who doesn’t force it into action

when it needs to rest.

Someone who doesn’t betray its “no”

to make others comfortable.

Someone who keeps promises

even when no one is watching.

That’s what builds a new nervous system:

not force—
but fidelity.

—

So I started small.

Staying present through the tremble.

Breathing through the spike instead of numbing it.

Eating when I was hungry.

Stopping when I was full.

Touching my own skin like it mattered.

The body doesn’t respond to words.

It responds to consistency.

To rhythm.

To repair.

—

The Matrix taught me to dominate the body.

To sculpt it.

Shrink it.

Perform with it.

Punish it.

But my body never wanted to be managed.

It wanted to be met.

Held.

Honored.

So now I build a life

that doesn’t require me to split from it to survive.

A life where my body doesn't just belong to me—

it belongs with me.
