SLIT: The Soul as Absurdity
You didn’t lose your soul.
You were taught it never mattered.
The Sacred Was Not Erased — It Was Mocked
There was a time when mystery was honored.
The soul was not a metaphor.
Spirit was not a belief system.
Purpose was not a luxury.
But then came the modern spell:
“Don’t be so dramatic.”
“It’s all in your head.”
“That’s not rational.”
“Grow up.”
“Be realistic.”
And so the deepest parts of you were exiled to the realm of myth, fantasy, madness.
Not because they weren’t real.
But because they couldn’t be monetized, measured, or controlled.
The Death of Meaning Was Branded as Progress
The soul was replaced by psychology.
Spirit was replaced by self-improvement.
Ceremony was replaced by content.
Initiation was replaced by branding.
Myth was replaced by marketing.
You were taught to explain yourself in terms that made others comfortable.
And to dismiss anything that could not be “proven” by external tools.
But the soul does not live in proof.
It lives in presence.
Scarcity Engineered:
“Meaning” is outsourced to religion, politics, or lifestyle brands
Spiritual longing is redirected into consumption or distraction
Deep grief, awe, and wonder are pathologized or trivialized
Mystery is flattened into algorithms and optimization
“Absurdism” is sold as intellectual maturity
They didn’t say the soul wasn’t real.
They just taught you to mock yourself for seeking it.
The Regenerative Truth
Your soul is not a concept.
It is a pulse beneath the patterns.
You feel it when:
You cry for no reason
You stare at stars and forget your name
You fall in love with something no one else sees
You make art you don’t understand
You grieve something ancient
You recognize someone you’ve never met
The soul is the part of you that knows without learning,
remembers without being told,
and continues without needing validation.
The SLIT
This is the seventeenth cut — the spirit wound.
They made soul absurd
so you wouldn’t take it seriously.
So you’d laugh when it cried.
So you’d ignore it when it whispered.
They turned your search for meaning
into a phase, a joke, or a diagnosis.
“Grow out of it,” they said.
But your soul was the only part that ever truly grew.
Integration: Restoring the Root of Meaning
Sit in silence not to relax, but to listen
Name your longing — and do not reduce it
Trust the parts of you that do not “make sense”
Speak of beauty, pain, and presence — even if it makes others uncomfortable
Build systems, rituals, and relationships that treat the soul as central, not optional
You do not need to believe in your soul.
You are already it.
And the moment you stop apologizing for its presence,
the world begins to reshape around its truth.
“The soul never left you.
You were just taught to roll your eyes at its voice.”
